PDF Pattern Help & FAQs
Stitchvella sells digital crochet instructions. Please read each product description before choosing your project.
Am I buying a finished crochet item?
No. A PDF pattern is a digital document that explains how to make the design yourself. Yarn, hooks, tools and finished pieces are not included.
How do I use a crochet PDF?
- Save the supplied PDF download to your device.
- Open it in a PDF reader.
- Read the materials, terminology, size and gauge notes before beginning.
- Choose your size, make the requested swatch and follow the instructions in order.
You can read the file on screen or print the pages you need. Keep a backup of your original file.
What if I cannot find or open my file?
Check the order confirmation and any download message, including your spam folder. Make sure the download finished, then open it with a PDF reader. If you still need help, contact Stitchvella with your order number and product name. Do not send payment-card details or passwords.
Are the patterns in US or UK crochet terms?
Our original patterns use English instructions and US crochet terms. Always check the abbreviation key in your PDF. Read our US and UK terminology guide if you learned a different system.
Which size and hook should I choose?
Use the measurements and gauge in the individual pattern. Size labels alone do not guarantee fit. The suggested hook is a starting point; check your swatch and the intended fabric stretch before making a wearable.
Does a bundle include different patterns from the individual listings?
A bundle groups the designs named in its description. Those designs may also be sold separately. Read the included-design list to avoid buying the same pattern twice.
Where can I learn to read the instructions?
Start with our beginner pattern-reading guide. For sizing issues, see our crochet hat gauge guide.
